So as I mentioned left early... heard da crew had to go out for more "cocktails."
Went to go fry in my father's birthday present, the Butterball indoor deep fryer.
Fits up to a 14lb bird, and serves as a good deep fryer and steamer. Very simple clean up, A+!
Da bird:
This was a 13 pounder, took about 45minutes. Turned out black and burnt looking, due to the honey brine recipe my mother decided to use, I'd've advised against it. Despite the look the turkey was very moist and cooked perfectly in the interior with no burnt taste (thank goodness).
Next were the lumpias:
Very convenient fryer indeed, I could fit 7 monster lumpias at a time. Did both ground pork with vegetables and banana kine. The disappointment for me were the wrappers by AMF. Actually a friend's father's company so we gave them a try but the wrappers were thin, dry, and clumped together with a fairly starchy taste. Sad to say but wouldn't reccommend that brand.
Happy Labor Day everyone, hope you had a good and safe one. Pray for surf, otherwise we aren't looking at anything 'til Friday or so.

Even smaller, a contingent from SO paddled down to Waikiki this morning. Leaving it wide open, I think SO was probably the best place.
Happy Birthday!
Well Happy Birthday Royal! I left early butt good party, ONO food.
Lisa made kalua turkey quesadilla's topped with sour cream, olive, mint leaf, and a Thai Chili Sauce... ONO!
Wes brought a couple steaks and some smoke meat. Along with some mild butt very good Salami from San Francisco, oh and some cheese.
Royal brought his special teri-chicken and some steak. Along with a pan of rice that he was making some spicy ahi temaki for us. Also had some zucchini and egg plant.
Randy brought more steak and sausage.
Yvonne's daughter made the most ono brownies I've had in a long time... Boob you missed out!
Of course udder Randy, Jay, Wes, and I brought da cocktails... strange tho lots of police driving through.
Udder Randy, I thought you was going bring your cupcake a cake?!
Everyone who nevah come you REALLY missed out!
Off to cook again for MY father's birthday, a fried turkey and some lumpia. Yum-OH!

Double post? Well actually I meant to post yesterday but the website was a little mento.
Went to Tango, located at Hokua, next to PF Chang's Ward last night for my sister's birthday yesterday. There's been mixed reviews of the place, my opinion is it was good. From what I hear their breakfast fried rice is REALLY ono! Prices aren't that bad either considering the quality, between $19-$24.
The chef there is Goran Streng, spent sometime as the exec chef at Halekulani and Hawaii Prince. The restaurant is small and chef cooks everything himself.
I looked it up online before going, thought the portions were small, unfortunately I was wrong, they are reasonable.
We ordered appetizers, the clams are a MUST
Empty, butt the broth is spot on! Especially with their ciabatta bread rolls which are also ono. The other appetizer we had, not pictured was the Gravlax with salmon skin and potato salad. Having sampled and tasted more smoked salmon than anyone else you know, this one was totally different. It was a real light smoke, more of a cross between sashimi and smoked salmon, a delicate flavor. The salmon skin was salty, the potato salad not that good.
Expecting the portions to be small and because the server asked, I also ordered a salad.
Pan seared scallops with grape tomato's and mushrooms on a bed of spinach topped with a vinegarette. Scallops were cooked perfectly. The vinegarette did leave much to be desired tho.
I then had the bouliabase.
I was very excited to finally try Seafood Connection's (one of my past employers) salt spring mussels (need a permit to buy them). Was disappoointed and I should've known but my mussels were full of sand and not the greatest. It's hot in Vancouver where they come from leaving a weak and not so great mussel. Overall the broth was good, not excellent, served with leeks, potatos, clams, and shrimp.
Our older brother ordered the braised Asian 5 Spice beef which was cooked perfectly and he said was good.
I wish I had just ordered the clams and a salad (Kumu ordered the French Onion Soup and a Salad), because the deserts were EXCELLENT! There was a Kona Coffee Ice Cream Cake, Crepes, and a Strawberry Mango Crumble with Cinnamon Ice Cream. All their ice creams are made by Maurice at La Gelateria (always AWESOME!), and their coffees are fantastic, fresh ground french press.
Overall I thought it was great.

Surf was even SMALLER. Took a spin down to Waikiki again and will probably go again tom'w.
My Iphones been acting up and well the pictures I took didn't come out. It was going to be a, "What's dat?" Will have to wait 'til tom'w. If you don't know what it is, then you shouldn't be surfing SO.
B-Day Party Tom'w
Yvonne let the cat out of the bag, it's Royal's B-Day tom'w. Coincides with the return of the Pres tom'w. Looks like another cook-out.
Btw - "No Soldiers Left Behind" is BACK after his 4 month 7-days a week workathon.

Tinier... not too much. Decided to stroke down to Waikiki and back. Ran into PSH Jamie near 3's on her way back.
J-Yo stopped by, wanted to suck, who also stopped by kind of threw me off. Kim Mckeague? Said he was picnicing down Magic Island and was surfing CT's. When he saw me paddle through he thought he'd go down to SO for a visit.
Kim is still smooth.

Surf was tiny and then gotten eaten as the tide rose... Ended Summer or Bummer Summer? May have to fish tom'w.
Post Game Anal
As everyone said they beat all expectations in a shoot out against a bigger and faster USC team, ask Moniz... but then he was sacked by his own player too.
A recap would be moot at this point because most of y'all if not y'all saw the game. 4 things I learned live tho...
1 - Da Stevie/Gary Combo makes DA BEST football company at the Stadium handsdown!
2 - There are CHOKE beautiful gurls at the game
3 - USC had choke people in the stands, maybe like 25% was Red, and very nice people. We had a few SC's around us and they cheered, jeered, and laughed with us.
4 - Jordan Segundo is still lurking out there and fighting unemployment... dude get a real job! I feel sorry, at half time before and while he was singing some heckler was yelling for HI's real American Idol Jasmine Trias... wait I think that was me!
Reality tho is a loss is still a loss, hope it doesn't get to the player's heads. Kind of funny when all of Hawaii is happy with da loss.
New Home
Was going to investigate a new blogspot... CDP went to typepad... I'll keep y'all posted. Well it's either that or get a real job where I'm too busy to blog.

Surf was even more smaller but still ridable, just not really turnable. Aunty was out on Kado's old PSH quad, less 1 fin... lucky it was weak and she doesn't turn hard, she couldn't tell the differnce.
Got worst as the tide came up.
Bye Bye Blog
The blog ends September 30th... the hosting site will be closing. C'mon CT gotta start blogging, last month.
Pre-Game Anal
This is the official kick off of College Football, first game of NCAA div I.
Well USC despite all the penalties put upon them by the NCAA and after losing their head coach remains ranked at #14! Their recruiting class remains strong, just look for talent at all positions.
Hawaii is a different story. The one time 5th string pizza delivering QB Moniz, will attempt to lead the offense again coached by former QB Rolovich at offensive coordinator. I smell rebuilding year... wait what have they been doing since Jones left?
Let's just hope we don't want to leave too early... we might not be able to find Stevie.

Tickets
Stevie got 4 extra tickets to da game tom'w. $20/ea. Lisa and I are going.
Disastah!
If you thought you were having a bad day today... this guy dropped his load outside Young Brothers! This is Waiakamilo right above Nimitz with the fire station in the background. Leaving YB?
Poor guy is trying to salvage his load. Lot's of broken bottles and stuff. Must've had a flat bed and didn't tie down good. I'm surprised the Fire Department isn't helping.
